Car Accident Injuries and ICBC. We Can help!
Have you been in a car accident? While your car may be the damaged party in a car accident, it’s you that’s left suffering in terms of your health. Are you experiencing whiplash or neck pain after a car accident? Even the smallest accidents or fender benders can result in injury.
One of the last things any of us want is to get into a car accident. While our cars may take the brunt of the noticeable damage, the toll that motor vehicle accidents take on our bodies can also be significant.
Left untreated the injury can develop into long-term muscle and soft tissue injuries, pinched nerves, arthritis, degeneration and other forms of damage. South Surrey Chiropractic and Wellness offers support for car accident injuries and whiplash treatment for you and your family. We are here to help you feel better. The sooner you come for treatment after your accident, the quicker you’ll be able to recover.
Did you know it is easier now to get the treatment support you need covered by ICBC?
ICBC’s new Enhanced Care plan beginning on May 1, 2021 means you do not have to wait for a support and recovery specialist to contact you before getting treatment under Enhanced Accident Benefits.
For the first 12 weeks after your crash, you can go for treatment with a healthcare practitioner(s) without the need for a doctor’s referral. Just make sure you have your ICBC claim number when you go to get treatment.
South Surrey Chiropractic and Wellness is here to support you and work directly with ICBC to create a treatment plan to help you feel better.
“I was involved in a bad car accident over 5 years ago and have been to a few chiropractors and I have to say that Dr. Mann is one of the best. I appreciate how he listened to all my concerns and takes the time to explain why he chooses certain treatment methods to help me. Dr. Kam Mann is very approachable, kind mannered and takes the time to make sure all concerns are addressed. I would recommend Dr. Mann to anyone who is looking for a new chiropractor as he truly is one in a million!”
steps to receiving care after a car accident
1. Report the Motor Vehicle Incident to ICBC
Before you can get access to care, you’ll need to report the accident to ICBC. You have 30 days to do so. Once you do, you will be provided with a claim number and be assigned an adjuster or claims specialist. This is true regardless of who is at fault in the accident and whether you were in a motor vehicle as a driver, passenger or have been affected as a pedestrian or bicyclist.
2. Understand the Treatments You Have Access To
Once you receive a claim number, you have access to a number of treatment options without the need for a doctor’s note. These treatments are available within 12 weeks, or about 3 months, after the accident date.
ICBC has pre-approved the following treatments for all accident victims as follows:
|Practitioner||Number of Approved Treatments||Standard Treatment Fees (Treatments date: April 1, 222- March 2023)|
|Registered Massage Therapist||12||$85|
Was your Car Accident longer than 12 weeks ago?
Did your car accident take place more than twelve weeks ago? You may still have access to treatments and care covered by ICBC. Contact Us with any questions you have or to find out if you’re still eligible. Our practitioners can communicate directly with ICBC and request a treatment plan on your behalf.

“I have been seeing Dr. Sohi since 2016 and the difference she has made in my health and life overall is next level. She has been able to assist me through my injuries, ailments, major and minor pains. If you need a Chiropractor or are thinking about going to see one, you need to book with Dr. Sohi. She is great at answering any questions and I just can’t say enough about how happy am with the treatment and care I receive. “
Which Practitioner should I see first?
It is best to see a chiropractor first. If you’re not sure who to see or what expertise is best suited for your injuries, consider seeing a Chiropractor as a first point-of-call. As doctors, chiropractors can assess the situation and help create a treatment plan that includes other practitioners based on what they find in their assessments.
South Surrey Chiropractic and Wellness Offers the following services:
Registered Massage Therapy
